MOON LAKE!
One of our favorite places...

Alexander and his cousin Hannah, little hiker monkeys.

End of the summer means low lake.....Low lake means MUD!
All of the kids played in the mud and water for hours. We had to BEG them to come back to camp.

Such girlie girls....never dirty, always proper. This is Mackenzie Northrup, her cousin Emily Faber and Hannah. (I asked them to curtsy and this is what I got?)

Alexandria Northrup was late to join the party and had to practice her running away from others skills so that she could get in the mud on her own terms.

Alexander and Christian

Shake 'n Bake chickens!
They rolled around in the hot sand to warm up, then got back in the mud, and so on...
The layering of dirt was quite impressive!
Alexandria, Emily, Mackenzie, Hannah

Ugh!
Christian and Alexander

I say again.....such a girlie girl.

Step one to the cleaning process was to rinse off in the lake.

Step two was to get rinsed off in the freezing hose water.
Step three, yes there was a step three. Divide the kids to be conquered by the warm showers in the trailer and camper.

Alexandria and "Uncle Mike"

Lounge lizard number 1 (Rob)

Lounge lizard number 2 (Lance)

Emily

For some down time the kids played on the computer. However, in keeping with the "outdoorsy" theme they were creating animal-like creatures.

Lance and Julie making Carne Asada on the super cool Camp Chef stove and BBQ.

Now that is one fine pile of wood!
Brad and Rob were quite proud of their labors.
We had the BEST FIRES in the campground.

Rob.

Subaru squared.
Brad and Dominique

Mackenzie and Emily

Alexandria

Lance and Mike

Christian, Alexander and Hannah

Riding bikes was popular with the kids at Moon Lake.
Mike had a different idea about bike riding.

Alexandria, Tanji and Emily

Hannah and Alexander.

WOOD SPLITTING!
We made the kids earn their keep.

What!? Visitors to Moon Lake? Dan and Danielle have a cabin near by so they came to have lunch with us. What a wonderful surprise!

CHEESE!

mmmmmmmm......smores.......

Alexander and Lance are comfy and warm in the trailer.

And through it all, the massive amounts of rain failed to put out our most awesome fire.

The night before we left, we had the mother of all rain storms. Tanji, Rob, Julie and Lance hung out under the awning to enjoy the river that ran through our camp site.
And through it all, the massive amounts of rain failed to put out our most awesome fire.
